Sources that don't share the video file, and how to attach originals
TikTok, YouTube and Twitch tell Loopcast about new posts but don't let apps download the video. Here's how to supply the file.
Updated
Why this happens
The official APIs for TikTok, YouTube and Twitch share titles, captions, dates and thumbnails, but not the media file. Loopcast only uses official APIs, so for these sources we need you to provide the file once.
Attach the original
- Open the workflow. Posts waiting for a file are marked as needing the original.
- Open a post and choose Attach original, then upload the video from your phone or computer.
- Loopcast processes it with your workflow's settings and continues as usual.
Tip: export your videos without the platform watermark before you post them, and keep that copy. It's the file to attach, and it looks cleaner on the destination.
Ways to skip the manual step
- Use a Google Drive or Dropbox folder as the source instead and save your finished videos there.
- Use a source that does share files, such as Instagram, Facebook, Vimeo or a podcast feed, if you post the same content there.
